gender
gender is weird. sex was a given, and straight to the point. so who decided to add all these convoluted ideals and rules for the sexes?
i was born female, but i hated being seen as one. when i was young, i purposely stayed away from feminine things just to prove i wasn't like a girl. thankfully now, i don't hold myself to those restrictions since i'm confident in who i am.
i'm non-binary. i present masculine in most aspects of my life, feminine in a few. one night in college, in the last of my many days determining who i was inside, i decided to settle on the non-binary umbrella. and so far, it sticks with me comfortably even today.
i'm just glad that now, i look towards other things than gender to decide who i am and who i want to be like.
