Be Water, My Friend (Shannon Lee)

This was a book I bought physically a long time ago, but I guess fate wanted me to read it now.

I'm not a fan of self-help books because any person can write what someone needs to do and get "NY times best seller" on their resume. But the author of this book (daughter of Lee) genuinely just wants to reflect the rich philosophy of Bruce Lee.

All the points in his teachings are connected to the motif of water. It solidified some wisdom I already knew, and taught me some new things. I agreed with most, and disagreed with some.

Overall, it's an honest attempt to share a man's viewpoint in life. Just labeling it a "self-help" book doesn't cut it.

"...and the reaction one shows to such obstacles is what counts, not the obstacle itself."

"But be aware: You want to become better, not better than! The opponent relationship is not a contest."

"The goal isn't not to fail: the goal is to fail faster so that the lessons from the failures can be implemented and lead you to success more quickly."
